Jody Hammond

Jody Hammond is a familiar name to many Southern Californians as a news broadcaster for more than three decades. She anchored and reported for KNX Newsradio in Los Angeles as well as KNSD, KFMB, and KGTV in San Diego. She recently received a Silver Circle career achievement award from the National Academy of Televison Arts and Sciences and has been honored with dozens of journalism awards, including five Golden Mikes and six Emmys.

Jody's producing assignments often take her on the road. She has covered stories for NBC News all over the world, including the shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in Arizona, Joran Van der Sloot's arrest in Lima, Peru and the murder of Monica Beresford-Redman in Cancun, Mexico. She is a graduate of UCLA with a Master of Arts from Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Tufts University in Cooperation with Harvard University). Jody has produced and written four documentaries, and is fluent in Spanish.

"After years of covering anyone and everyone in both positive and negative situations, I'm constantly surprised by how many people just "wing it" with reporters. A little preparation can go a long way toward avoiding "foot in mouth" disease."
