Jody Hammond is a familiar name to many Southern Californians as a news broadcaster
for more than three decades. She anchored and reported for KNX Newsradio
in Los Angeles as well as KNSD, KFMB, and KGTV in San Diego.
She recently received a Silver Circle career achievement award from the
National Academy of Televison Arts and Sciences and has been honored with
dozens of journalism awards, including five Golden Mikes and six Emmys.
Jody's producing assignments often take her on the road. She has covered
stories for NBC News all over the world, including the shooting of Congresswoman
Gabrielle Giffords in Arizona, Joran Van der Sloot's arrest in Lima, Peru and
the murder of Monica Beresford-Redman in Cancun, Mexico. She is a graduate of
UCLA with a Master of Arts from Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Tufts
University in Cooperation with Harvard University). Jody has produced and written
four documentaries, and is fluent in Spanish.
